I thought my rotor button was supposed to point at the #1 cylinder at tdc.
Found this picture of the firing order and cylinders. Number 1 is closest to the front and on passenger side

when it's on TDC you can put #1 on the distributor any where you want it

I even turned the harmonic balancer a full turn after that to make sure it was on the opposite of the first time and got nothing. Just cranking

Shes acting like she wants to fire. But will start off the fuel that the fuel pump initially sends but then stalls

keep in mind the position of the dizzy does matter. The injectors are activated one at a time based on the PIP signal. If the dizzy is out of position this causes a timing error of the injectors firing order.

I'm going to revise my previous timing procedure for you by having you set it at 10btc at the balancer...but 1st recheck your firing order once that is checked restab the dizzy. bring up the #1 cyl on compression.

stop and look down at your balancer it should be coming around to 0 tdc, cont. moving the motor over the tdc mark and stop on the 10*BTDC ( this will get you closer to your initial timing..setting on TDC also works)

Make a mark on the side of the cap where #1 spark plug wire is on the cap and onto teh base of the dizzy.

drop the dizzy down in the motor and align the rotor to the center of the mark has you drop it in. If it doesn't line up then you are a tooth or more off. pull the dizzy out and try again until the mark lines up.

Start it up and set with a light ( spout out).

Give it another try.
