Thumbs up

:bang: 1992 GT 5spd throttle sticks/ clean tb with cloth there is build up.Someone suggests..... Why not put a return spring?.... But if you put a return spring like in the "carburated" days of old. Would this work on a fuel injected system? Would that rapid return of a spring, when you let go of the throttle harm the engine?????? That would be my concern, any ideas, suggestions would appreciate thanks. Al

Sad to admit, I too have that same problem on just one of my 2.3, 4 cylinders.
Tho I do have a suspect spring. The trouble is I am not sure as how to R&R it?.
Maybe your spring is similar?

I had lubed all those parts I don't think that spring comes apart in itself it's part of the cable . What I mean is a separate spring to work with throttle cable, giving it more tension so on the release of the throttle it would kick down faster. My concern is  on a fuel injected car :drive: that quick return of the throttle would do harm don't know does that make sense to you ?.....By the way :worship: thanks again for those color illustrations you helped me with the"removing the p/w motor with the great color pic's . Where do you get those illustrations my shop manuals are all black/white :bang:,or they are drawings? Anyway I will try checking that other spring you mention. I don't recognize the one closer to the throttle..... :worship: many thanks again for your time Al.................

I use a window program called Paint along with a digital camera.

Of course, I did not need the camera for this illustration below..... Rather I hit the "Print screen " key just a key or 2 so above the delete key.

Than when in Paint, I click edit than click paste. Than I am ready to play.

This may be a better view of spring on inside.
I have increased the tension in it which is not real easy to do. but, can be done.
I am still not satisfied tho.........
It is driveable but sometimes dies. tho rarely

I understand your thoughts of adding a spring to make it snap back better.
But, I don't see it hurting the engine. Just a guess tho.
I mean in the old days when we had carburators that was what one did.
Of course now a days they call them throttle bodies. But still, now as then they serve to regulate the amount of air an engine gets. One of the 3 components all engines need.

Hey another great close up ,I see the spring, looks like a tough spot not quite sure how to do that one, I'll give a look see , I'll also check out how you did that with the computer. I'll get one of my sons to to help me with the computer part, they're better at that than me. What can I say very informative and helpful, again much thanks, have a great holiday!....... My throttle was sticky, and I fixed it by lubing the throttle cable just where it enters the cable jacket under the hood with some good white grease. Problem solved.

Lube ball and socket where throttle cable attaches to throttle body....common place for crud to build up and make it bind

Hey thanks guys
I have since adjusted the second cable
It seemed to be alright with it removed
Thus, I tried to bend the bracket a bit before putting it back and that seemed to help.
