I am wanting a flip-up sunroof for my Mustang. However, I can't find one of the original Mustang sunroofs. Would you happen to have one for sale, or know where I can get one cheap? Thanks.
If your car did not come with an original sunroof then I would highly advise against installing one. The only right way to do it would be to change the roof skin and structure from a donor car...you can't just "stick one in". The aftermarket sunroofs kill a car in my opinion...I have walked away from cars that I was interested in buying soley because of the addition of an aftermarket sunroof. I have the sunroof glass available but it does no good without the rest of it if you didn't have one to begin with.
As an example....we are replacing the roof skin on an 18K original mile Mustang this upcoming spring simply because of a dealer added aftermarket sunroof that was installed back in the day.

Paul, could you explain why an aftermarket sunroof is bad in a fox??

I personally just think an aftermarket sunroof is ugly and the reason I walk away from cars with them is because I don't feel like putting a roof skin on the car since I wouldn't be happy with the aftermarket roof.
These aftermarket roofs are also prone to leaking and rusting around the edges if the installer did not do his job properly. There is also no reinforcement around this and you will sometimes see dents in the roof around the edges where they are screwed in or clamped. A factory roof has bracing and reinforced areas to help bolster the area around the sunroof.
I had an aftermarket installed in my 88 (it had it when I baught it) and let me tell you.... its a major pain! First off, when you add aftermarket sun roof you have to cut the support of your roof (its a piece that runs from one side of the car to the other). Now, I can basically put 10lbs. of pressure on my roof and the WHOLE thing caves in. Its horrible. It also leaked like CRAZY. I took it out last week and having a body shop fill it in. I wouldnt recommend it at all.

So if I get a junk fox with the factory sunroof I can do the switch if I add the reinforcements and all?
