My friend once again wants to know what would win a Stock 02 Chevy camaro or A modified 99 Mustang Gt

depends on the mods for the 99gt. i would have to say the camaro unfortunately. 305hp vs 260.

 

I think a 02 SS makes a lot more than 305hp, I think even the eariler LT1s were rated at 320, but why is this in the fox forum?

 

An 02 SS is an LS1, not an LT1. The 02 LS1 in a Z28 was 310hp, but an SS was 325.

So it would depend on what kinda mods are on the stang. It would have to be something major to beat the camaro. Something other than bolt-ons.

 

I knew an 02 had the LS1, thats why I said "the eariler LT1s..." but anyhoo, I thought the LS1s made more than 325 anyway? regardless...

 

they made more than 325 but were rated at 305. they made like 290-300 at the wheels stock

 

Earlier LT1s (Z28) were 275hp (i think they went to 285 though before they changed over to the LS1). Whatever though, we're all in agreement that the stang would need a lotta work to keep up.

And im not too sure why this is in the fox forum either...

 

the 97 LT1 SS was rated 305.

but anyway. It would all depend on the mods.. a bolt on GT would most likly lose. but one with a power adder would win.

Like other people said a stock LS1 puts out about 290-300rwhp. basically around 340-350hp.
