That picture of it under the tree is hilarious! How far would a good cleaning take this car? It looks like its all there and pretty solid. Post some more pics if you have time. I love seeing stuff like this.

I spent $15 in quarters at the car wash just to get all the Palo Verde Beans out of it, all in the cowl and in the door jams it was a mess but no rust not even in the hatch!!

Not a whole lot of people appreciate '79 Mustangs.
They are very significant in Mustang heritage as the first of the Foxes, a platform that lasted 25 years.
They have all the Fox "characteristics" in spades, which makes it a fun and challenging ride. They are a very good handling car once you learn the tendancies.
While they only had 140 hp, they had 255 torque. The current 4.6/3V has 320.
The '82 GT "Boss is back" only had 17 more hp.
They are still affordable and offer a huge "bang for the buck".
So don't pick on my baby!

Since it started up, I am assuming it is not a Turbo.
Nice find! It is unique, but not rare with over 10,000 made.

It is a 4 with the Turbo, it was rebuilt 6 months before it was parked!! The Turbo spooled up just fine but we are checking everything. My brother rebuilds turbos for a living in his shop!! I just don't know how many made it through the years so I snatched it up!!

Here is an update! The cowl was shot, some rust under the vent but thanks to Laurel Mountain Mustang and Dale it was cut out and an exact fit welded into place!!

Yep, start from the inside out and now I have to find a vacuum diagram for this car.. Any Ideas? But i'm starting a new thread to ask where I might find one!! All the vacumm lines were shot some missing!!

I love the old Pace cars...I've owned 3 of them before I got into SVO years ago. The Turbo 2.3 cars were a vacuum line nightmare so a manual will be of great help! Ofcourse the '83-85 GT's were full of vacuum lines too....

Nice Pics!1 Thanks, yeah I know the wires and vacuum lines are tough but all the vacuum lines under the hood seem to be there but the ones behind the dash are gone(varments) gonna replace them all!!

The body is all being blocked and sanded, its taking alot more time due to other things comming into the shop!! But pics soon I promise!!

Ok Finally some more pics.... The hood is all fixed sanded and primed, the old decals are comming off and the rusty cowl has been replaced!! One step closer!!
