Shifter

Which would be the best choice for my 87 GT with the World Class T-5? Car has 57,000 original miles and 541 at the rear. Still has the stock Semi-Truck shifter on it!!! Thinking of the Pro 5-0 or the Tri-Ax?? Any thoughts??

01/06/2011 - 01:31:30 PM Awesome shifter!

Has this shifter model in a 87 LX and a 96 Cobra. Had a Pro-5.0 shifter in the 96 Cobra before I switched back to the Tri-Ax and there is just no comparison. The Tri-Ax rocks! The Tri-Ax has a much more comfortable position for reach, shifted much smoother in all gears, and was quiet as well. You can't go wrong with this shifter! I now have a 2011 GT which I have also just put a Steeda shifter into. Can't say enough good things about it!
Let me know if I can help answer any other questions?

Best Regards,

TJ

I've had them all, hurst(currently), multiple Steeda's, Pro 5.0, MGW ect... My favorite is the MGW & that's what I'd like to switch my hurst out for now. You really can't go wrong with any of them though, their basically all good and the difference is in the handle. They all shift 100 times better than stock, just get whatever you can find for the best price.

The installation is very easy and Steeda offers instruction online as well. (Might want to think about a shifter gasket as well.) http://www.steeda.com/store/uploads/t5-triax-1.pdf

And as stated above whichever shifter you decide on will be much better than stock!
