Rare Fox
Okay so my car has spent the nite at a friends house right next to the place where the car show was going on in my hometown today. I cleaned it for a week, it looked very good. Anyway we had a turnout of maybe 150-200 cars (central Illinois so not that big but hey) and A guy walks up to me and is checking out my fox and he says he thinks it is a rare car because of my luggage rack. & I wish to find out more so since I cannot post pictures I will describe my car in every detail and maybe someone can verify his info. Thanks.
1990 repainted but original color red LX coupe, 25th anniversary model, red & black cloth interior, automatic, optional map light, tape player & am/fm, black trim around the side of the entire car, 5.0 liter engine, 10 hole wheels, power windows, locks, mirrors, no sunroof or moonroof or anything just a soild top and that is really everything I can think of plus the luggage rack on the back so sorry for the long post but I really want to know more about this. Thanks again.

Let it be said: I hate the luggage rack.
I think just about all 87-93s with a trunk had that luggage rack. A lot of 4eyed foxes don't have it, but I think it became standard (the standard for ugly) sometime around '87. Mine's a 25yr as well, a convertible, and it has the ugly thing... for now. I havent gotten around to removing it yet, I'm not sure if it needs an allen wrench or a special 'easy out tool' as ford likes to call them.
As far as I know, the only limited edition offered by ford in 1990 (fans dubbed it the '7up Mustang') was a jewel green LX 5.0 convertible. It came with the GT 'turbine' wheels and has the filthy luggage rack on it's back. It is one of the only mustangs with a white leather interior. There were 4301 of them sold; about 3900 of those were AOD and only about 400 were 5-speed. Link: http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/wallpaper/...-Up-0919-WP.jpg
On a side note, does your mustang have a fuel door that opens with a latch on the underside of the steering wheel? Because mine does, it looks stock, and nobody else I know of has one.

No it doesn't My89Ford. the only thing I have underneath my wheel is the stupid, worthless, ridiculous key lock button. I hate that thing. BTW I really like your Mustang. The combination of it being a fox a convertible and white looks very attractive :jedi: Sorry I just felt like sticking the Star Wars in there.
1990 was the first year that the fuel door release button/locking fuel door was deleted from the car. Some late '89 Models may have gotten it but the official model year was '90. The armrest was also deleted in 1990 and brought back in '91.
As for the 25th anniversary edition.....all '89 models from a date in april had the badge on the dash but they were not "25th anniversary editions"...the official 25th anniversary edition although a model year later was the '90 Limited edition green and white convertibles also known as "7up cars". This was a somewhat last minute move by Ford which is the reason there are no brochures stating such.
