Will a sotck AM/Fm CD head unit out of a 94 mustang hook up to my 88 GT without much trouble? I want to install a cd player, but i want to keep it stock looking. thanks.

 

Is your 88GT a premium sound system? If not, then most likely will not work. There are two plugs on the back of the unit, a small 3/4" square plug, and a larger rectangular plug, about 3/4" by 1.5", give or take. Had my unit out of my 93 this weekend, and upgraded to a 96 model cd head unit. Mine is a premium sound setup, though. Oh, and premium sound is different from 93 to 88, but I'm not sure if the plugs differed or not...

 

Your 88 is not compatible as a plug & play. The '93 Mustang even had a different setup than the previous Fox years with a different amplifier in a different location as well.
