I am planning on putting a tach in my Mustang since I take it to the drag strip on the weekends... didn't know if anyone had any suggestions or preferences over any of the brands out there...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 

You have a tach and while it may not be the most accurate thing in the world another is just clutter IMO...what I did on my SVO was install a small shift light hidden in the A/C vent programmed to the shift point of my choosing. After all...at the track you are watching your driving and not the gauges which is the point of a shift light on a tach...you catch the light at the designated shift point. This keeps the interior clean and still provides function.

 

Thanks for the advice Paul. My older brother told me the same thing too, so thats the direction I am going to take. And like you said, I really don't need another piece to clutter the interior. Thanks for the advice!

 

likewise .. shift points can be set / or tuned with chips in 100 rpm increments i think (..i just shift at valve float )

 

I ended up getting an LED light from Auto Meter. I actually cross referenced the part number with the same light they can order from Advance Auto Parts that is near my house. I went inot the store, they were a little less than purchasing online and they shipped it to the store for free...can't complain!
