Possible Mustang Purchase

Hello,

Let me start out saying that I've never owned a mustang, however always loved the 5.0 hatchback models and recently started looking on Craigslist. I found an 89 5.0 LX for $3k. Looks to be in good shape. Seems like that's the going price as well. Maybe I can get it for a little less who knows...

Attached are some pics. When I asked about the milage he stated that there isn't a way to tell since the mustang odometers don't go past 99,999 and believes there's a lot of miles. Also says it runs good and no issues.

From what I've seen on eBay and online sales, the prices fluctuate a lot.

This would be a second car for me and probably down the line, I'd look to sell, hoping to somewhat get my money back.

Thoughts on the price, value, etc assuming it's in good shape when I see it?

Looks decent. Things to look for....rear main seals, cracks in the paint on the A pillars fox body's will twist on stock HP they are know for that. Rust in the typical areas like strut towers and rockers. And make sure the T5 shifts nice and the clutch feels good. Rear main seals will have oil running down the back of the engine.
