I just installed a MSD 6AL box on my 85, and the engine runs great, but there is a bunch of pinging at around 1,500 rpms. The timing is at about +11 right now.
What problems will pinging cause, and does anyone have suggestions on a timing advance/retard or some other way to fix this?
thanks

do you mean the timing is 11 after topdead center? shouldnt timing be 10-14 Before top dead center? does it ping in the rest of the RPM range? dont know much about carbs. maybe its not getting enough gas at idle?
