It's been a long time since I worked on one of these, but I'm thinking not without jacking up the engine a long way. It may also require dropping the oil pump and pickup tube once the pan is dropped but prior to removing it.

Thanks. I forgot all about the oil pump! I'm replacing the rack and pinion and figured I would take care of an oil leak at the same time!! But I guess not!

I replaced the rack and pinion last month along with the steering shaft assembly. I also have an oil leak but mine is at the rear main.

Even with the steering rack out the K-member is still there and therefore the engine would have to be jacked up like stated above. And drop the oil pump into the pan like stated above too.

Gotta say though that replacing the rack and the old rag joint steering shaft was a great improvement to the old Fox.

So far I have replaced everything on the front end all the way down to new bolts!! The rack and pinion and steering shaft is the last thing and the front end will be done!!

The K-member holds in the engine, so you'd need a sling brace between the fenders to hang the engine. Now, if my memory serves (which is getting tough for this old fart) the pan gasket is a rubber one piece unit. I had good success working this into place without actually removing the pan. They had a bad habit of splitting, usually near the dipstick. I think that still required jacking the engine a bit, but much simpler than removing the pan.

2k7, make sure that oil leak isn't coming off the back of the intake manifold. I saw a lot of those that blew out the cork seal back there.

Pretty sure the oil leak is by the dipstick! Thanks.
