need a little advice

I just joined. I have a 91 GT 5sp that was pretty much stock when I got it. I was driving it one day & it just shut off without warning. After getting it towed back to my shop, I have figured out it was the pick ups in the distributor. So I have started modding it a little since it has been broke. I started with a new distributor with an upgraded ICM, MSD cap, rotor & wires. New plugs. Cold air kit with the K&N filter relocated inside the fender. I have purchased some used long tubes & the passenger side is giving me fits to install. Any advice? Also I have to wiggle my ignition switch to get my tach & blinkers to work, I've replaced the cylinder but it didn't help, any suggestions on that too? Thanks

I did a lt header install not too long ago on my coupe. Put the car on jackstands as high as you can get it. Take the motor loose from mounts and jack it up, you'll need to remove fan shroud. Disconnect and remove starter. Header goes in from the bottom. I think that's it, someone chimed in if I missed something.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid unhooking the motor mounts but figured that I would have to.

It's really not as bad as it sounds man. That kinda made me shutter at first too!lol Definetly has to been done for clearance though.

Yeah you're gonna have to jack up the motor. Also on my old car, the motor mounts needed replacing after the header install. The headers rubbed because they were pretty much collapsed.

+1. I did solid mounts on mine with header install. Might as well, you're right there anyhow.

Oh by the way, will I be better off with straight boot plug wires or the OEM style?

OEM will work just fine man. I would recommend lock washers on all your bolts. And, depending on which headers you bought, a better set of gaskets. The gaskets that came with my BBKs were junk. Copper seal for me, I HATE exhaust leaks!!

I really appreciate the advice. I have lock washers & bought some multi-layer aluminum gaskets with spray on copper sealant which is what another guy highly recommended.
