Check TFI module.

Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on?

If it was the module it would most likely be out completly. Does it crank and not start up?

The pump could be going out, mine did that for about 10 miles but it got me home. What year car do you have and do ya know how old the pump is???

The TFI module is known to quit when hot, and work perfectly once cooled off. There was actually a class action lawsuit about this a few years back.

It's the fuel pump. I had the exact same problem twice over the 8-10 fox cars that I have owned. Be sure to replace the filter when you do the pump. Also a cheap alternative to an aftermarket one is to go to the parts store and get one for a 93 cobra. The pumps in these were rated at a higher flow to push the 24 lb. injectors that came stock on that year. If your stock. If not then a good aftermarket one will do the trick.
