the 89 vert is pretty much bone stock with 125k miles, all i know is it had a new cobra clutch just put in it and aftermarket rims. a/c blows cold and the color is dark forest green with grey skirts

90 has 99k miles no a/c. motor was rebuilt at 89k, has shorties and polished upper intake, no idea what the heck they done to the motor but it turns high 7's low 8's all motor. i cant ask the previous owner cause its a repo but the dealership is saying its just a 306, thats alittle too quick for just a 306 with what appears to be stock heads

How do you know what the 90 turns on the motor. I am also taking it that this is 1/8 mile times. My cousing has a 306 coupe that runs high 7's on the motor, but he has gt40 heads, drag radials, intake, and cam and exhaust. I might add that he runs that through a powerglide, so he may actually run a bit faster with a 5 speed. His is alos a coupe though, so the weight is sgnificantly lower.

thats what i have been told it will turn in the 1/8th. i havent personally seen what it will run. i know your not supposed to believe half the crap a dealership tells ya but,,, this dealership is family owned, so i'm not expecting too much B.S'ing just to sell me a pony. I'll be able to confirm this next weekend, i'm gonna bring it to the strip.

I would say get the 89, its more streetable, and plus you dont have to worry about how the other people tuned it and you will be more comfortable in it.

i just sold my 93 lx 5.0 which was my "toy" it was a daily driver and my weekend warrior. i ended up getting the best of 7.52 et's in the 1/8, i regret selling it very much and i lost a crap load of money and effort in doing so. i was tinking about going with the vert because i like the looks, and can "showboat" and was gonna try my best to leave it stock and pass up on the racing game. but, knowing me, i am not going to be able to keep it stock and more than likely i'm gonna start playing with it too. and the down side of that is that most dragsstrips around here wont let anything running 11's come out and play for saftey reasons then when it comes to the 90, when i put the nitrous on it i should hopefully be right around where i left off giving that the car runs the way he says it does.

i am torn between these 2 gt's and am seriously considering getting them both so i can have my cake and eat it too, i'll just have to deal with one very pissed off wife by doing so, cause after a month of pleeding with her i finally got her approval for getting ONE! not TWO!

Which one to buy depends on what you intend to use the car for and the general condition of the each one.

Sure the '90 is faster, but what kind of condition is the car it? How are the torque boxes? Does it have subs?

If you think you MIGHT race the car, then I'd stay away from the 'Vert but buying both would satisfy the both parts of the show 'n go equation

okay, get both. This is just my personal opinon, but if you have the money and can afford it, their shouldnt be a problem with you having both, just look at paul, hes got like 100 foxes, lol.

I say both
I know my family has 6 fox bodies. all 2.3 LX's
Plus the son is going to an auction tomorrow to look at number 7.

You might want to tell your wife the converible is for her though.
That should smooth things over
