My 2 Foxes or the Shelby?
Now all of these things are relatively minor and I love my 06 and wouldn't get rid of it for the world. But as far as a car that I don't have to worry with the '91 was far and away MUCH more solid. I didn't have to do ANYTHING to that car for about ten years... just put gas and oil in and drive

It also bugs me that whenever I clean the interior, I seem to find another piece of plastic disintegrating.
I agree with you that it was probably a better interior to begin with, but after 20 years, its interior (and top) are very tired.
My $0.02, being an owner of an '05 GT, you must keep the '93 Cobra. Is there a way you could perhaps sell the conv't, keep the '93 Cobra, and get a used GT500 in a few years? I believe the prices are coming down on ebay, you are starting to see used ones already and that way you get the enjoyment of both foxes for a few more years. These new "Shelbys" will not hold there "highly inflated value" after they become just another used car. Mustang folks and car collectors may still want them but the average Joe will move on to the "new next best thing."
BUT YOU MUST KEEP THAT '93 COBRA!!!! That car is very sweet (nice, clean, and well maintained.)

: responce to the above:
Thats my point the blue GT is nothing special when compaired to the Cobra. The GT500 is a fantastic car and is worth the MSRP but you can't find one (usually) for MSRP. So just get a new GT or the Shelby GT if you have the extra $ and want the Shelby name. Either way a new GT some mods and you will find your self very happy. Just don't sell the Cobra, you will miss it.

Well, he won't from me. The S197 is a great Mustang (one of the best for sure) but that being said, DO NOT sell your Foxes. I think that you will be kicking your self down the line. I know the temptation that you must feel as the GT500 is an awesome car in both looks and performance, but your Foxes (especially the Cobra) are in fantastic condition and I don't know if you will be happy with the GT500 when compaired to your current Cobra, the Foxes are just more fun to drive and many S197 owners who had a Fox will say the same. If you really got the S197 bug I would sell the Blue 93 GT and buy a 2007/08 GT convertible (vert for a vert
) buy some suspension, handeling, engine mods and call it a day. This way you get the best of both and you could always do a GT500 conversion later.
I forgot to mention. I already had an 06 Vista Blue. Had it built in about 60 days from the day it was ordered with a favor of a ford regional rep. I'm a fanatic about keeping the cars in great shape and just did not drive it. So I could not see paying $400 a month for not driving it and after exhaust, tint, tune, louvers, sequentials, cai I sold it and purchased my 93 vert. Crazy huh!

If you "must let go" of one of your Foxes, definitely NOT the Cobra! Low production numbers and the first production vehicle from Ford SVT.
There's a '93 Cobra in my general area (teal!
) and if the owner ever decides to sell, I would be all over it. I doubt it, since he seems to know what he's got.

. Still at 400 a month I don't think I would have kept it either (scratch that I could not afford 400 a month) That being said if you had an S197 and sold it I doubt you will enjoy the GT500 much more. The reason is while the car is a true red white and blue muscle car it's also heavy as hell, and even though it has more then enough power to get out of it's own way, I have heard plenty of people say they would rather have a supercharged GT thats 2 or 300 punds lighter. Besides your Cobra is a fantastic performing car that like many others have stated, is a true SE based on just numbers alone Seriously I would wait if your thinking about another S197, the BOSS or Bullit should be coming soon and one of those could very well give the perfect balance of performance and weight, if not by then the GT500 will have cooled off and you should be able to buy one on X-plan.
Its not about what the kelly blue book says its worth, its how much people are willing to pay for it. the '93 cobra represents the beginning of the SVT era and the end of the fox body era. With its limited production numbers and high desire, its definitely a collector car and worth some bucks.
Ive got both in my garage right now. '93 Teal with Black cloth 1 of 185, the most rare of the '93 Cobra's and a Grabber Orange GT500. I can tell you without a doubt that as fast as the Shelby is and all the creature comforts it has, I'd rather drive the '93. Its has more of a muscle car feel and it handles like a slot car with some minor suspension mods.
keep the cobra....sell vert...finance a little more.....but of course... do not pay anything over MSRP for the GT500.

hood came flying up on me!
