Been looking around here and there for valve covers. I really didn't want to have to remove the baffles out of stock one's or beat on them like most people say they had to in order to clear 1.7 rr's. Had looked at a set of black chrome powder coated cover's, that looked really nice, but not sure about the clearance on the rockers. So a good friend of mine, thankfully had squirreled these away awhile ago, and was nice enough to let me give them a new home:

So after spending the weekend trolling through pick-n-pull's and wrench-a-parts up in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, I thought I was going to end up going home empty handed. Now I dunno about you guys, but I've learned regardless if the car is absolutly DESTROYED, I still dig a little bit and see what's inside the car. If I look the car over, and find evidence of performance goodies than I really start digging. So at a certain yard I found two little fox bodies, both well.....destroyed:
The car on the left, had BBK header's (destroyed) and I noticed the lower intake gasket laying on the passenger side of the car, and looked like a trick-flow/holley systemax setup. So I started digging some more, and found in the trunk, UNDER the spare tire and jack, this little piece:
SO I about fall over, being I found this in the trunk...and both of these cars are PICKED over.....well what was pick-able...so I finish walking around and head back up to the counter, and the young girl at the cashier says "$16 dollars sir" Thank you very much, ends up it's a 76mm C&L with a 24# sample tube in it, so now I'm on the hunt for 24# injector's or a 19# sample tube....

Snapped a pic, just cause...be nice to get the LX bumper back on...
and cleaned this up a little bit (my god it was nasty)
BEFORE:
AFTER
I dunno what happened to this MAF, looks like someone took a cutoff wheel to it, gouges and some hefty nicks on the ends...smoothed
them out. So now looking for a 19 lb sample tube.

Started up again this morning (may not be in complete sequence):
Cobra valve cover's (clears 1.7 RR's)
Explorer Intake:
Long Tube install. Which sucked, steering shaft hits the aft tube, had to massage it quite a bit. Ended up being a 3 a.m task
Video coming shortly....finishing up last minute stuff

Well a little over a week of driving the car, all I can see is HOLY F*&##^!!&)#*!.
Prior to doing this swap the car would fall on it's face at 5100 rpm (including on the dyno) and that was were the power stopped.
I'm sure some of you have thought to yourself "I wanna see how far I can push it" and then you have that moment of clarity,
and you feel the seat cushion becoming part of your backside. Well that happened to me yesterday. I ran it all the way to 7800 rpm
and the car kept pulling. I however got that "oh ****" feeling and got out of it. Then I noticed the black marks going through the intersection.
Am I happy with the outcome.....
OH YEAH

Went to the track friday night, and I should have known better. Traction in 60ft was a joke (granted I'm still on NT555's and not DR's or slicks)
Then someone leaked oil all the way down the right lane. So everyone had to run in the left lane. So only 3 passes. MPH is there, but traction was not:
Next plan is picking up a set of ET's for my 2 spare cobra wheels, and going to a different track, either Houston, San Antonio or Prairie Hill.
