Mustang Shut Off When Driving
Mustang Shut Off When Driving
Hey guys! I have a 93 2.3 na. So I was driving down my street coming home from my dads and it just died... I pulled over and tried cranking it for about 30-45min nothing. So I left it there for about 5hrs walked home n came back and she started right up. But it seemed to have a small miss and it staggered when I accelerated. As soon as I got home it died again. Had to push it up the drive way lol. Any answers?
maybe a bad module inside he dist. They get hot and the car won't run until it cools back off. I forget the name of the part. short term memory problems. I'll remember the name in about an hour.
Sounds like the classic ignition module failure. The module is on the side of the distributor held on with two 7mm bolts. You need a special socket to change this unit out. They fail with age and heat. When they cool off, they work again like a thermal switch. Class action law suit years ago and some folks were killed when these units died while driving I believe.
