Mod Suggestions From the Fox Gurus.
With the mods i already have (listed in sig) what would be the best thing to do next? I'd kill for a supercharger, but that's a little over the budget right now with the cost of university. Looking for suggestions, aprox. price incl labor, and how much hp it would add. Thanks boys.
It is a daily driver, and i was thinking about gears, but how much would 3.73s hurt the gas mileage? would 3.55s be a better all-around choice?
the only other thing i can think of thats cheap is cams, i dont want to put nitrous in it.

I think a cam is a lot of work to install though isn't it? Ignition stuff probably won't get you a lot of hp but you might want to look into it just for driveability and better mileage. I put in new copper plugs with 9mm wires and topped off with my MSD cap and rotor I actually noticed an increase in throttle response and mileage. I plan on getting the screamin demon coil next and the dyna-mod from these guys- http://www.performancedistributors.com/5.0ignition.htm

Either 3.55 or 3.73's are an excellent next upgrade. The choice should be decided by your ultimate goal for your car. If you plan a supercharger and want to keep the car street driven, I'd say go with the 3.55's, they will work better with the torque multiplication of the supercharger once you install it later down the road. If you go with the 3.73's now and install the supercharger later you may have to break open the rearend and change the gears to 3.55's. Just trying to save you a few pennies in labor.
While you are changing the ring and pinion you probably want to upgrade your axles. It won't help your HP or track times but it will pay dividends later with improve durability. It won't be cheap in terms of parts but it would save labor costs to upgrade the ring and pinion, 31 spline axles, Trac-Lok or Auburn differential and a axle girdle all at once. Tear it apart and replace everything only once.
Other suggestions would be an intake upgrade, Trick Flow makes some nice pieces along with a larger 65mm or 70mm Throttle Body.
If you do eventually want to add the supercharger, consider upgrades that will enhance performance and durability once you do take the leap. Improving the fuel delivery system with a larger fuel pump, etc. again won't add HP but will be necessary when it comes time to take the supercharger plunge. Just my $.02

Subframe connectors. About $200 in parts, $100 to $150 for labor. They wont make the car faster, but they will make it a much more confident handling car. Foxes from the factory are just sloppy handling cars. Trust me subframes will greatly improve your every day driving expierience.

How much would heads and a throttle body cost including install? And how much hp would i be making after?

Not sure how much the install cost would be but a set of Ford Racing's GT40X heads will run you about a $1000.00
GT40X Heads
Supposed to be a 65hp bolt on. These are the heads I want to put on my car when I get the motor rebuilt. The throttle body is easy to do so I would do that myself.
So the heads are 65hp, what about with a cam? what kinda 1/4 times would be possible then?
And i was looking on the FRPP site and they had a 5psi blower on there for $1700. Are the ford ones not as good as the KB or vortech, etc? Or are they just ridiculously expensive up here in canada cause i havent found one of any brand for less than $4000.

I got my subframes for 50 bucks from Blue Oval Industries, I just bought my strut tower brace from them too and they have an ebay store.

Just remember on the hp estimate, that's 65 hp at the flywheel, not the rear wheels. On one 302 I built, I added a Edelbrock Performer Intake, 65 mm TB, box-stock Edelbrock Performer roughly 80 rwhp but I had already installed an X-pipe, catback kit and short tube headers which helped maximize my output
On the supercharger that FRPP sells, it is essentially a Powerdyne unit. I think they sell the 5 - 6 psi kit and a larger 8 - 9 psi kit (or at least they used to, I haven't looked at any FRPP catalogs recently so they may have discontinued the larger kit)
At any rate, the Powerdyne kit is a nice quiet kit that makes decent power however it doesn't have the upgrade potential of Vortech/Paxton offerings. The lower HP output and limited upgrade potential are the reasons for the lower cost
if you are going to the trouble of heads. might as well get the holley systemax II kit. it comes with heads, intake cam ETC. not much else left to do if you have pulled the motor down to the short block. you have to pull all the front accessories to get the heads off any way. not much more to get to the cam. and i wouldnt bother going with HP heads w/o an intake kit. holley kit lists for 2000K but is good for 350HP
Hmmmm, that sounds very interesting, NA is always sweet. If i do that itll have to wait till summer when i can make some decent money, right now im just pullin in enough to pay for school and the car.
Maybe i could get student loans for it. To keep me from being late to class.

LOL, yeah that would be a nice way to finance mods. and just think of the power you could make later when you add the blower!
or cheack out these crate engines http://www.fordracingparts.com/crate...smallblock.asp. not much more than the holley package. no building. and a 12/12000 warranty from ford

4.10 would be sweet but its a daily driver (winter too) so it would be a little impractical.
