Metal squealing sound after driving for about 15 min
Need help! I have had this metal squealing noise that starts after I have been driving for about 15 minutes. There is absolutely no noise when cold but when I drive for a out 15-20 minutes this loud squealing noise starts and sounds like it is coming from the bottom of the car in the middle. I think it sounds louder by he passenger rear wheel, but could be wrong. This squeal will last for about 3 minutes then go away. I am completely stumped!!!
The sound does not stop when I step on the brakes or change the sound so I think I can rule the brake pads out.
As I slow down and come to a stop the squealing goes away telling me it is not any belts in the engine compartment.
I have checked the brake pads ( all of them ) and they are fine. I took off the rear wheels and cleaned the drum brakes off and this changed nothing. I do not know what else to check.
Please help
it is a 89 gt.

This could be guessing game but three things that come to mind are:
Axle bearings (usually more of a growl when going out)
Pinion shaft bearing
Drive shaft bearings
Hopefully someone else would have more experience with your noises.

Did you make sure the shoes were adjusted correctly?

Maybe the tob is riding on the pressure plate. Or the surface it rides on is culled or scared. If the tob gets hot from riding on it, it can produce a squeel.
