a 5.0 LX and a 5.0 GT are identical cars with a different body kit, so they are both considered SPORTS cars. an insurance company is not going to call one a sports car and not the other because the interior options and bodykit is different. the seats in Hotrod's LX are identical to the ones in my GT.

The weight difference didn't help the LX I raced last summer. Maybe I have the driver mod?
are you still saying the LX is not faster?

1990 Mustang weights...

1990 GT 3191 lbs
1990 LX 5.0 hatch 3102lbs
1990 LX 5.0 coupe 3037

With equal everything and equal drivers a LX coupe will be over a 1/10 faster in the 1.4 mile.

sure with all things equal the LX will be quicker. but how often will you line up against another mustang with all conditions and driver's skill exactly equal? thats my point

Big-D: thats crazy they wanna charge more just for a GT. Have you tried getting a quote from another insurance company just to see if they do it also?

there is no way 89 pounds is gonna take a tenth off of ur time in the quarter as compared to the gt. it is gonna take alot farther for 89 pounds to make that much of a difference lol. thats less than a three percent increase in weight lol. the power isnt weak enough for that to make a heck of alot different. ill bet all conditions the same u and another driver driving identical will run the same time in both vehicles
the coupe would make a difference cause it is almost 200 less but i doubt 89 is gonna make that much difference.

I dont know what theyre called, but in my GT the front 5 inches or so of the seat can be extended for drivers with longer legs.

Just thought id bring it up since hotrods seats look exactly like mine with the exception of that, sorry no pics. Anyone know what im talking about?

oh yeah I missed that, I believe their just called leg extenders and mine has them too.

yeah, I don't consider 89 pounds much of a handicap, and IMO notchbacks have the handicap in the looks department anyway, LOL!
