not much really. GT's did come standard with more options usually but there are a good many 'loaded' LX's as well

some LX's don't have power windows, door locks, etc... and didn't some GTs have different speedometers?

Early V8 LX's have different seats than the GT's. They retained the 4-cyl. seats.

no the speedos should be the same. Up to 88 had the 85mph and the 89-93's had a 140 speedo

My 1993 LX has power windows, locks and cruise, but it has 4 cylinder seats. It may have been different because it was a cop car.

The weight difference didn't help the LX I raced last summer. Maybe I have the driver mod?

Here are some pics of the seats in our 93 LX. Its got power locks and windows. Not sure if they are the ones your talking about but a guy in my auto mechanics class had an 89 4-banger and it had different seats.

that interior looks identical to mine.

Big D- if your insurance wants 400 bucks more for the GT they must be thinking the LX you told them about has the 2.3 in it and not the 5.0. Did they ask you for a VIN so they could run it?

It actually doesnt matter if they both have V8's. The GT is going to cost more because its considered a SPORTS car. The seats are different: the GT seats are thicker, wider, and made out of better material. The GT has the slotted rear lights and the LX does not. The GT has the body kit and the LX does not. Also, the speedo is the same; from 89+ they had the 140 speedo's, anything under that had the 85's. I believe that is it and the GT was available with more options. thats really it. I actually just converted my GT to an LX and I am VERY happy.
