Hey,
I'm thinking about swapping out the interior in my 1987 5.0 LX and putting in interior from another car that looks bettter. Right now my interior is faded and some pieces don't look the best. I was thking of swapping out everything but the dash, but might end up doing that. Haven't taken a whole dash out, but have taken things around it out. Is it really hard to swap it out? Could I get the interior out of any LX or GT from 1987-1993? There's people selling cars for parts that have good interiors in them and interiors all ready ripped out of cars in the Want AD and such pretty much every week. I want to start looking for something so that hopefully around christmas time when I will have time off from school I can swap it, but need to know exactly what I can use before I start. Any help would be great. Thanks.

yeah, if you can find a donor car cheap that has a good interior. that would be the best way. then every thing should be pretty close in color. everything fades somewhat. so if you get parts from mltiple cars everything might not match up exactly. though it all can be painted with the interior paint. the hardest part will be the dash. there is so much into removing it. but if you have time, its no big deal. if you pull it all out. go ahead and replace your heater core because you have to pull all of that out to change it. and they go bad at the most unfortunate times. hope that helps. also check stangparts.com and 50resto.com they have a HUGE parts selection. good luck, hope this helps

Also ebay, alot of racers strip out the cars and sell the whole interiors as packages on ebay for little to nothing.

dont start taking things out now cause i think its unnesscary just go to auto barn buy your interior color paint to fix a faded dash or interior panels and try to just reopolster your seats or some cheap after markets that cost not that much more than stock seats

I'm really leaning to the pulling the whole interior and putting some from another car in rather than painting it, but I may decide to do that. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, some stuff doesn't look as bad as other things, but if I just pull some sutff then it won't match up good. I've seen donor cars for 300-500. Going to start looking at some soon. Thanks for the advice.
