I have a Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake manifold. I like it and it works well but the main power gains on it are at 5000rpm and above. I am looking for something more streetable, something that is a little more street/strip. The car is driven 95 percent of the time on the street so I want something with a nice power band of somewhere around 2000-6000. I was considering the Edelbrock RPM 2 but I would just like to see if there is anything out there thats a little better. Anybody have any suggestions on something that will work well with that in mind? thank you in advance.

If you have the stock long block, I would go with a Cobra or a modified stocker...There's a guy on Stangnet or the Corral (TMoss) that is very reputable and knowledgable on this subject...

How bout find somebody who wants to swap out an edelbrock performer 5.0, its off idle to 5500 rpm. Then again, what sorta engine is the manifold connected to?

I personally don't care for the Edelbrock EFI intakes....Best bang for your buck for your stated useage is the Cobra intake...GT40 is nice but pricey unless you find a good used deal. TFS makes some nice intakes as well that are affordable.

Its a similar set up . I have a couple buddies that have explorer intakes and saw pretty decent gains with them. I would say explorer, cobra, gt40, typhoon, or trick flow would work really good on the car. It also depends on what your hooking it up to.

They are similar but not identical. The Explorer intake comes in two forms...one with EGR and one without. The lower intake is the same as the Cobra and GT40 except it does not have provision for the Air charge sensor like the early 93 Cobra intake does. The upper is a cast version unlike the GT40 upper. The intake works very well and responds great to extrude honing

Out of the bunch, the GT40 is the best looking hands down, but the lower is so kinked up around the ditributor (cobra lower as well since they are one and the same). I think the only downside the the factory intakes under 400 to 425 HP IIRC is the balance of air to the cylinders. I cant remeber if the #2 cylinder gets the least amount, anywhosit in N/A street trim its not a big issue.

I've never had a chance to check out the TFS stuff up close, but I like the Edelbrock lowers, a bit tight around the distributor though. The performer upper stinks with the bolt in the air passage

The Holley systemax is a favorite too.

I think you need to really figure out exactly what you wanna do motor wise. There are tons of great intakes for stock set ups that would work ok with a stroked motor. gt40 doesnt flow enough for much mor than stock.

From what I have read the performer RPM 2 is for an even higher RPM than the standard performer intake (2000 to 6500). The performer says gains from idle to 5500 RPM.

Yea, the RPM2's are good for street use. I think I am going to get that because my good friend just baught a complete 306 and it had a RPM2 on it and he swapping it for a Trick Flow Type R, so im going to take it off his hands for 100 bucks (if he follows through with his word).
