(problem solved)help, my car is dying (problem solved)

well driving to work this morning and i notice the rpm needle spike up then droped. Then my check engine light came on.so while i was waiting at the light almost at work the car started to idle at 350-400 instead of the normall 750-800.
When i give it gas while driving it seems like the rpm needle isint that responsive as it was before when i push the gas.
There dosent seem to be anything wrong with my car though it drives just fine except for that low idle.

just recently flushed the radiator out and had my fuel injectors cleaned.

Unless someone knows what is wrong with your car after reading your post, I would take it to someone you know who would have a better idea...I had an issue with my GT where I was not getting much of any response when I hit the accelerator. First, I thought it was a fuel issue, and replaced my fuel pump and filter, but it wasn't. I then figured it was a problem with my ignition due to spark, but instead of throwing more money at it, I took it to my dads friend that owns an auto repair shop who then looked at it and found out it was the cars computer after all...I have always had good luck with the guy when he has fixed stuff with other Mustangs I have owned.

But, if you do have a fuel pressure gauge, I would check the fuel pressure, because that might help diagnosing the problem or give you a better idea...

I droped it off at the mechanic the next day and the sec. said the mech. had changed some sensor and some coiling wire was frayed or something .She didnt really know cause she wasent a mechanic and he had left sick. So i get back the car and it's running just fine, Then coming to work today guess what happens? The same thing !!!!!! i see my rpm's drop down and my engine light comes on WTF!!!!! How can some work again and then not work again???? im begining to think its the computer also but it's hard to say because the car was running fine for a whole day and then all of a sudden it fails again. The only problem is the low idle but everything else is fine. I dropped it off again today and told them to take there time with it. I just want the thing fixed.

The guy that had my car for two weeks fixed everything, and discovered other stuff that I was unaware of. It runs better than ever!

You need someone who can fix it right...you'll pay more an hour for a good mechanic, but you're probably better off...here in Rhode Island there are two places that specialize in Mustangs, so I can only imagine any other state probably has lots more.

If it's a computer I would try to find a used one, or if money isn't that much of an issue you could buy a performance one, which will be several hundred dollars...

not too bad, at least it was not a fix that didn't cost anything...when somethings wrong like that, always check those sensors to make sure they're clean because alot of times it can be something like that...

Have you changed the fuel filter. I change it every year. Also a bottle of Chevron Techron will clean out the fuel system. Sounds like you have a fuel system problem.

I would try to take it to someone who can check and see what the check engine light is on for...it could be something simple.

I did,i took it to a mechanic. He took out the maf sensor cleaned it and plugged it back in. the codes went away and the car was fine untill today when it came on for 15 min then off.

the mechanic said that if it happens again i would have to change the sensor

but my question was - can a maf sensor work one second then fail the next?

it's one of those things that happens when you get into a vehicle thats around twenty years old...some people say that it's just Mustangs, but it just happens...stuff is going to start having to be replaced...all you can do is keep up routine maintenance and cross your fingers..

Yeah, just think about what other piece of electronics anyone has that is 20 yrs old, and has to endure being inside of a car that is subjected to cycles of heat and cold!

touring- by the way, what air filter do you have? it wouldnt be a K&N or other type of 'oiled' filter would it?

I have never had my Injectors cleaned. They are now roughly 3yrs old and working perfectly.

Can you explain the process of having your injectors cleaned, and who advised you to pursue such a dangerous course of action?

On that note, let me just say I have completely no faith in any of your fuel injectors, and would suggest that since they have been cleaned, its probably a good idea to to replace all of them.

Leave the injectors dirty, don't let anyone clean your injectors. They are probably sticking.
