having two problems,convertible and tranny

having two problems,convertible and tranny

car is a 88 GT convertible..1st problem im having is can someone tell me where I can find a good video to help changing a convertible top,and the 2nd is my 88 gt shifts backwards what i mean is park is where 1st should be reverse is 2nd and so on..

you can buy that video on late model restortion. it is a bit pricey but i highly recomened it. i have used it before. it is low budget but very informative. i wouldnt even try it without it. just keep in mind if you havent done this, it is a very hard job. most people save this task for the professionals.

your trans probably has a reverse manual valve body.

i got the top started,got all the back bolted in,just need to stretch it all in,hope it looks decent,

Awsome man. Just make sure you get the rear bow height right on. It is the MOST critical part of the whole job!

Your transmission has me scratching my head. Possibly the selector arm on the trans is upside down. Dunno.

That's what I was about to say. I'm not sure for an 88 but for my 98 I believe it was something like 24.5 inches. Make sure you get that as perfect as u can
