Hatchback switch...

The only way I can open the hatch is with the key, but there is a switch in the glovebox...the switch does not seem to work and I'm not sure how to take and repair it. I would like to do that myself, but am asking for help on how to go about taking things apart (if necessary), and what I will need in order to repair/replace so I can use my switch for the hatch again. Any thoughts, suggestions are very much appreciated

Perhaps you can start by replacing the switch itself . . . shouldn't be too difficult.

Can you unplug the switch and jump the two wires to see if the trunk will pop. If it does the switch is bad. If it doesn't then I would look at the actuator at the trunk latch.

I tried to take the switch out just to see if I could and I guess it's a clip or something possibly...I'm honestly not really sure

Lift that black tab up on the plug and unplug it. Leave the switch in the dash for now.

What do I do once it's unplugged?

Emma, just jump one side of the connector to the other... the trunk lock actuator should pop. If it does, the switch is bad, if it does not, then the connector in the trunk could be bad or the actuator itself could be bad.
