Gt40 head shave

Gt40 head shave

Has anyone ever shaved gt40 heads for higher comp if so how much and did it make much diff...

Higher compression is not necessary for the 302 to perform. Air flow is what is important. Big valves and runners.

shaving the heads 50 thousandths or so mite give you a whopping 1/2 point increase in compression .. gaining 15 horses at most ..,, then you mite have to reduce timing to stifle pinging thus negating any gains from shaving the heads .. as Al said get the power elsewhere ..

Thanks for the tips. It worked on my fourwheeler was just thinking it would work in this app to but sounds like money spent elswere would be the better deal... Thanks
