Foxbody Choice

Ok I'm not sure if this has been discussed. I searched and couldn't find both together. So here goes.......
I've got the option of buying one of two mustangs.
1st - 1991 notch - completely stripped inside. Front clip and front suspension removed but included. All glass gone and no doors. Has title and roll cage. Comes with a 9" rear end.

2nd - 1989 hatchback - complete car with no a/c factory option. Its a 4 cylinder.

Need some opinions. Swap the 4 cylinder or rebuild the notch??????

What's your plans for the car? If the notch body is straight, I would go that route. Does the notch have a motor and trans? I personally would build the notch. Find a wrecked or scrapped 94-99. Swap front ends and the interior. The fox seats and front ends suck anyways.

Yes the notch frame is straight. No motor or trans but I have a 351W for it.

Are you sure you don't want to find a car a little more "mod ready"?

Question

If you can get the car for little or nothing, I would go with the notch. Do you have a lot of body tools and time to get the notch completed in a year ?

Little or nothing, I'd work on the notch. Or take them both.

Yes. My wife isn't going to be thrilled. 2 fox bodies and a 1985 F150 at the house. I'll be pulling the motor out of the F150 (351W) and putting it in the mustang. The F150 will be heading for the scrap yard.

The pictures were tiny, I don't know if it was the pictures themselves or my phone. They don't look too bad, I've seen a lot worse. What are you planning to do to the 351? The first thing I'd do is take the heads to the scrapyard along with the F150, if they're stock heads. Definitely keep us posted on the build project. I'd really enjoy seeing it.

It wasn't your phone. For whatever reason they downloaded small like that. The 351 is going to be rebuilt. I don't know yet how far I wanna go with the engine. Right now just thinking stroker kit and maybe fuel injection.

I wanna try and build both cars. I'll have a hatch and a notch. Here's where I need some opinions/advice/knowledge. The notch needs everything from the firewall forward. What do you guys think? Scrap it and find another one or is it salvageable?
