fox seatbelts

I know that most 87-93 fox parts are interchangeable, but what about seatbelts. Will the 90's fit into the 87-89 without mods?

Some yes and some no but there were color changes so the 90 grey will not match the 87-89 grey. Much of the changes were in mounting points which made the belts different. In coupes they did not have retractable shoulder belts until later so they will not work in the earlier cars....also the hatchbacks were the same way and there is a mount welded to the body to mount them which the eariler cars did not have.

Thanks SV! I knew about the different colors, but not about the mount until just recently. I was told I'd have to install mounts in the rear to accept the 90's seatbelts in an 89 notch. Just wanted to verify in case I ever change to black and use a 90's set of belts.

I just put '91 belts in the '86 GT. There is a locating tab on the retractor assembly that didn't line up perfectly with the hole in the body, but I was able to get it into the hole and torque it down. Both cars are hatches, so I don't know if that matters.

The major difference is the rear shoulder belts...you only installed the front ones I bet...
