Fox Restoration

Hello,
Im thinking about buying an 89 Mustang GT. Its not in very good condition at all, but I would like to restore it to like new condition, with the sxception of upgrading the suspension and rebuilding the motor with forged pistons. Im a 17 year old senior in high school, and I have plenty of experience with cars. What am I getting myself into, and about how much money am I looking at spending? Thanks for any info.

check out www.50resto.com they have pretty much any part to resto the fox mustangs. the 89 already has forged pistons so you wont need that. and cost really depends on how much of the work you can do yourself. and how many friends and people you know that can help you with the project. alot of obsolete parts like window mouldings and trim pieces are very expensive to replace. good luck with the resto. working on my 92 lx coupe this winter.

Thanks for the info! Ive already ordered a magazine from 50resto. I had heard that they already had forged pistons, but I didnt know if my source was correct. I cam do most of the work myself, and I have a mechanic friend that can help my with most of the harder work.

Thanks for the information. If anyone can help me find a black dash, it will be much appreciated. I want to put a black interior in it, and Ive found everything but that and the plastic peices in the hatch.

you might have to get a gray one and paint it with interior paint or dye it. the only place i have seen with them is 50resto and they sell the whole black interior as a kit. dont know if they sell it seperate or not
