Fox Bullitt Tribute
My tribute to the Bullitt was adding the fuel door to my Fox. I don't think most people realize that it is not just a bolt on piece for a Fox. As soon as I saw it on the '01 Bullitt I had to have it .

Boss89 that looks pretty sweet.
I am thinking of doing the same color and of course Bullitt wheels. I just wonder what I cam do with the front end. Do I switch to an lx nose to give it an open look like the original or just leave the gt nose?

Thank you, I bought my car new in '89. I did it (still are) as my idea of what Ford should have done for a 25th Anniv model. I have GT40 intake and heads to go on. I also have a T5 to swap in and already have the Bullitt shift ****. If you have a July 1997 issue of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, it is in there. Regarding a Fox Bullitt, I think that is an awesome idea and one I have pondered before. I think the LX body style captures the clean look of the Bullitt better than the GT. For the grill area, I have seen an insert similar to a SN95 open style grill that would open that area up. Also similar to the '85/'86 grill opening. You would go with highland green correct? Remove all of the emblems and ground effects. Hatchback with no spoiler.

Highland green can be the only choice. I was wondering if someone made a nose that was more first generation feel.
I've always liked the fox lx body style better, but when I was in the market I could not pass up the deal on my gt.

Interesting idea. DHG for sure or the Emerald Green like the '90 "7UP package" had. Like using the fuel door too. Could exchange the GT ground effects package for the more understated LX-style. IIRC, a vendor developed a "grille delete" panel for the Fox (it removes the blue oval badge and the center slat). Please update your progress on this.
hi5.0 this project is so in the preliminary stages. I still have to switch to 5 lugs. Then start the process of gathering all the required parts.
I realty started this thread to see if anyone had seen the understated styling of a Bullitt mustang done on the fox platform.

Do it. I've always wanted to see how one would turn out.
do search on stangnet, corral, etc. A few have been done. How it looks depends on the person, IMHO it looks better on the newer stangs the fox lines are different but I wouldn't let it stop me to each his own.
Thanks skunk21, the other thing I am going to have to do is change over the interior to black. I'll check those sites. I agree with you that the lines are different on a fox, but I think that's what will make it a nice tribute and not a copy. IMO.
