The lower end of teh Cobra is the same has the production mustang. The changes for the Cobra motor over the stock mustang motor where..GT40 heads, Cobra spec valve springs/ R.Rs, GT40 intake, 65mm TB, 24lb inj, underdrrive crank/water pump pullies, Cobra spec cam, Recalibrated EECM.
The stock lower end in the H.O. is stout.
Also keep in mind since it gets forgotten. '85-early '92 have Forged pistons, all have forged connecting rods and cast cranks. The lower ends can outlast the hp levels of the stock block but when building a motor with an aftermarket block one would at that point go with different internals and not use stock internals in a new aftermarket block ( since they are no doubt building a high hp motor).
