A guy who lives down the street wants to sell his 1993 GT 5.0, and I am interested if it is the right price.
Some body damage that was repaired (still somewhat visible), foglights have been taken out, paint is pretty good (two tone, blue with grey lower), interior looks to be decent (the back seats and headrests for the front seats are cloth, but the front buckets seem to be vynil), standard rims and exhaust (1 pipe, is that right?) 5 speed, I am assuming it is bone stock. I am not sure of the exact milage but I am sure it is somewhere around 100,000.
What is a fair asking price, what should I shoot for? I am not trying to be a jerk, but the cost of living where I go to school is less than where I live, so I figured it would be a little cheaper than if someone was selling it back home, I am guessing $1,500?
Thanks in advance.

The car should have dual exhaust on it. You might talk him down to 1,500 but I doubt it. Depends on how bad he wants to get rid of it. I noticed the 87-93 fox bodies are more in demand now. Especially if there's no mods or few mods. Not many left with no mods out there.
Have a mechanic look at it. I'm willing to bet there's a lot of things wrong with it you can't see. I had an '86 GT I bought with 82,000 on the clock. What a pain to fix up! Every time I turned around that car was in the shop.

I took another look at the car, there is a second pipe, just tucked farther under the bumper so I didn't see it at first glance. Still no word back from the seller.

You mean looking close? Looking at it from a distance is how I missed it the first time. It's pushed in and mostly above the lip of the rear bumper, the other is a little farther out, and hangs a little lower.
I called and left another message, it's still sitting out there but I haven't heard anything back. He must not want to sell it too bad.

I finally got in touch with the guy. Evidently he says the body has 92,000 miles but the engine is new and only has 32,000 miles on it, also said it's a new clutch, newish brakes. He said he recently bought it (from the original owner) for $3,200 and wants to sell it for $2,800 (even down to $2,500 if nobody else is offering) cash by friday. Agrees the body is rough, says the internals are great, no oil problems, all original factory papers and stickers. Broken rear brake spring (what that means I don't know) that he says is a quick cheap fix or under warranty if I take it to the place it was fixed at (which isn't a problem). Any advice from those with experience? (Redfiresnake, I think I could schedule a test drive, and hopefully he doesn't have a problem letting me take it to a mechanic).
