Dynamat vs thermo tec or any other sound/heat deadners?

Any one know whats the difference between dynamat, thermo tec, fat mat...etc or would anyone recommend either on over the other? Why?

I want to do my floor, doors, roof for now and eventually do the rest, but idk which would be my best choice. I ask bc i am familiar with dynamat; never had it on a car, but just familiar with the idea behind it, and i dont want to buy it just bc its brand name, if theres any feed back out there on dynamat or on other brands.

I have used the ThermoTec products with great success in my 93 notch. did the floors complete, the roof under the headliner, trunk and door panels. Very reasonably priced on Amazon, free delivery. In the car for a year plus... no issues at all. Very pleased!

Does it do what it claims to do? Keeps heat out and insulated?

Had it in the car for almost three years. Have a GT now, no sound deadener, hear all the road noise and I hate it, but doing the whole car again is not fun. The last car because I was redoing the interior it seemed like a no brainer.

I have no issues at all with my 93. Prior to the install, (New engine, headers, catless H-pipe) there was an uncomfortable amount of heat coming through the tranny tunnel with just the factory padding. On top of the sound deadner, I added the Thermo barrier as well. No A/C car... no problems driving in the hot summer days.
Due to the headers, I burned up 3 mini-starters. Added their starter wrap... going on 1 year, no issues (hope i did'nt just jinx myself!)

No negatives so far...

Eastwood sells their version of Dynamat- at a fraction of the cost! I've used it in my son's '89 F250 and it made a world of difference. Awesome product.

When i get upgrade the soun system in my car im definitely adding dynamat or thermotec. Especially in the south texas heat. Im just gonna wait till i remove all the panels to get it goin. Trunk, roof, door panels, Under the trunk mat, rear speaker deck, and possibly floors but not sure on that part yet.

Anyone who's done majority of the interior care to share their experience?

home depot has some stuff in the roofing department that works great as a vibration damper and heat insulator. Now I know that may sound silly but it works pretty good

I just installed the Eastwood sound deadner today on my '11 brembo MT. A Great Big improvement. I am very pleased by the 50% reduction in road noise just from doing the spare tire well and the trunk floor. Their product cuts well with a box cutter and is easy to work with, sticks like crazy, nice and thick. Looks just like the much more expensive Dynamat. Wear gloves, the foil is sharp. The trunk floor sounded like a metal 55 gal tin drum before, now I only get a soft muffled thud when whacked with a knuckle....Was on sale for 99 delivered, only used a half a box so far....I am happy

Bumping for interest - How do you guys like the Eastwood product vs. the Dynamat product? How do your cars sound?

Thanks!

I think the Dynamat stuff is a tad thicker, not sure if that would make a huge difference. The Eastwood stuff did the trick imo.
