drove the fox on Watkins Glen!
April 30th was Toyota Opening Day at Watkins Glen, NY. For 20 bucks (and it goes to charity) you get 3 paced laps around the long course of the track. We drove up with a few other Mustangs from my club and had a blast the whole time. They took about 20 or so cars on the track at a time and although we weren't allowed to go over 55mph, we managed to hit about 65 or so sometimes. Even slamming into the turns at only 45mph was fun ('cause it was enough to make the 'ol 225/60R15's squeal!). I probably used about a 1/4 tank of gas for just the 3 laps because I was in 2nd gear most of the time and the cars were rather crunched together but we had fun swerving back and forth to make the relativley low speed action more interesting. We took some pictures of the Roush 360R and Roush clone that were driving in front of us and got some shots of other cars (like the Ford GT that was there!) As soon as Pearbear emails me the pictures I'll post some of them up here.

yeah it was disapointing we couldn't get very fast. the owners of the 2 roushes said last year they were able to get over 100mph so I think it was the chevy suburban and ranger truck in front of us that was slowing us down. I have the rest of the pics on my webshots page, heres the link: http://community.webshots.com/user/fiveohho
