Clutch chatter? Is this possible?

I started my 93 stang this morning. It was quit outside and I heard it every once in a while, while I had my hand on the stick some "chatter" or "ratteling". It did not last but more than 1-2 seconds every once in a while but I heard it. I crawled under the car like maybe the exhaust was vibrating against the underbody. But I figured out when I step on the clutch it does not happen. I just purchased the car and I know the previous person changed the clutch because it is extremely hard to step on. I get leg cramps. Nothing compared to my stock 93 Cobra, she's like butter. Is it possible to have some clutch chatter?

Not while idling but what you could be hearing might be a throwout bearing. What kind of clutch did the prior owner install?

It is while idling and I do not have any idea what clutch or how old it is. Should I just change it?

If you push in the clutch pedal, does the noise change or go away?

I doubt it is the clutch istelf if the noise is at idle...I am thinking throwout bearing.

^^ This can be a possibility... especially look at the catalytic converter heat sheilds. They fall off or get really loose in the spot welds and rattle here and there, even at idle. Look under the car at those, and if it is not them then I would say it is the throwout bearing.
