Alright, I looked through the forum and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for but if I missed it, sorry. Anyway, I'm planning on going from my stock 1990 5.0 engine to carb this winter and would like anyone's best opinion on the best way to get the most horsepower for the smallest amount of cash if you know what I mean. Thanks!!

I would have to say a Holley 500 2 barrel. IMO
They sure could beat my fomoco 4 barrel.

edelbrock 600 with an rpm intake.tune it one step lean on primaries and two rich on secondaries. Great gas mileage on cruise. Awesome acceleration when kick it in.I put this setup on my gt and the combo started ran drove great. Then added full length headers with free flow acts . Richened secondaries one more step. It explains in directions and was more pleased yet.

Okay, this may be a dumb question, but what is the benefit of a carb conversion? I have two carburetted vehicles, the Mustang with a 200 CID-1V I6, and a Chrysler with a 440-4V (yeah, the Stang is my slow car, but it's better on gas, hehe). Both cars run very well, but the fuel injected cars I've driven definitely rank higher on the reliability factor; starting and warm-ups have definitely been more pleasant. Why would you want to convert to a carb?

Yea, I'd like to know too. I've got a '66 and an '84 and want to convert them both to FI. I know that if you're into every single 1/10 of a sec. drag-racer, then the carb is the way to go, but for everyday, all-around driving, why not ditch the carb? B)
