The guy at Hub City Ford said he would take $6,980, but I have to pay cash for it. They wont finance it. Or if I had $2500 I can get an 04 for about $400 a month..........Really can't afford $400 a month plus insurance, stinks cauze I really want a Mustang Convertible bad!

Thanks for the input. You see I've always wanted a Convertible Mustang and this is really the first time I have ever sat in one and I need a car. I was in heaven sitting in the car and if I did have the money right then and there I would of bought it. I think you are right I can find a much better deal. It will take a while though because I really have NO credit so I will have to save money. $400 a month is pretty steep for me since I am already paying $300 a month Child Support plus household bills. Anyways I know it will be worth the wait to own a Mustang Convertible one day!

How much do you guys think of a down payment I would need to get, let's say a newer Mustang mabye a 1998 - 2002 and my Monthly payment to be around $260 a month?

It all depends on what kind of condition the Mustang is in, the milage, the interior, the motor, stock or modified. It depends on alot of stuff. You should def. wait though. The worst thing to do is spend too much for a car and than a month later see something twice as nice for half the price. Remember.... good things come to those who wait.

Kenny,

I bought a '93 LX 5.0 convertible w/112K miles for $6000 a little over a month ago from a guy I know. It was a little high on price but another friend of mine owned the car last year and from what I remembered the car was in pretty good shape. It also has a few mods done to it. The fact that the car you're looking at is at a dealer accounts for the high price they're asking. I'd be willing to bet they gave somewhere around $2000-$2500 for the car on trade and because of the fact these cars are becoming harder to find they feel they can jack the price up. Personally, I'd keep looking. Check Autotrader magazine for local cars or www.autotrader.com to see what's out there in a 200-300 mile radius. Good luck.

Why not get a later 94-95 conv. It still has a 5.0 in it, it has better brakes, and suspension, and a lot of other things that make it better than a fox convertible. But if you get any conv. get some nice subframe connectors, and chassis bracing
