My buddy has a 93 coupe that the previous owner removed and replaced the engine with a 5.0 and dropped the suspension about 3 inches and now when you go over a speed bump the exhaust and trans scrap so i was wondering if there is a skid plate because he really doesn't want to rasie the body if he dosn't have to.

The problem is that he lowered the car 3"...too much and likely not safe at best. If he wants a skid plate he is going to have to fabricate one himself....nobody makes one.

I would tell him to raise the car back up as well. What size tires does he run 245/40's? I like the look of alot of lowered cars, but they stink for everyday driving

well he was thinking of air bags, but the major draw back is in Nanaimo BC the DOT likes to pull over cars that look modified and we already got two tickets for it scrapping on a speed bump and the price is a little high unless you guys know where i can get a good deal for him and he is running stock tires right now for the winter but the aftermarket are not much different in overall size

Just reaplce the srpings with a set of less agressive lowering springs. It will be alot cheaper than bags, and I bet the car will handle better as well.

Does anyone even make lowering springs that drop a fox 3"? I am wondering if it isnt just a set of stock springs someone cut.

Three inches? Dang, I didn't even know there was that much space between the top of the tire and the wheel well. If he ever does aggressive launches I've gotta believe he's rubbing in the back.

If the previous owner lowered it enough that he had to cut out the inner wheel wheels then that car isn't safe to even be driven on the roads and he should get pulled over and get tickets. Sorry but to drive a fox in that condition is just plain stupid. If he did some research on suspension systems and how they work he would never drive it like that....it's not going to take much in the way of a road hazzard or incident for him to get seriously hurt or worse because the car won't handle properly and he will lose control.

And if he doesn't care about his own safety then he should consider the safety of other people on the road that he migh hurt or kill as a result.
