Use a DSS 306 or a DSS 331 Stroker. The kenne Bell makes all its power and torque around 2200rpm and carries it until redline. The Vortech makes all of its power around 5500rpm roughly. If you want the low end like you have with your 03 cobra get a KB.

I have the engine out and almost ready for the machine shop. I will make my decision on a stroker or not based on the condition of the current pars (I have a budget you know).

I don't recommend the Kenne Bell blower for the 5.0.....a lot more difficult to tune and they do not yeild as much power. Although it depends what you want...the Kenne Bell is great for a mild street car but not if you want to make a lot of power.
The pushrod V8 already offers more torque than the mod motor cars by design...so comparing a mod motor to a pushrod motor is comparing apples and oranges.

Also some advice for the original ? If your planning on running 15psi of boost you may wanna look at getting a a4 block. I dont see any way other than a turbo that your stock 5.0 block is gonna make it past 550 rwhp. My buddies car only made 9psi and made 498.

A good motor for you would be a DSS 306 stroker with some turbos.

but if you want it to stay N/A as you said then add a blower a DSS 306 would be great. As you say, you have a budget so u could probably get the DSS 306 without the block, and just have it bored to 306 and use new reciprocating.

I have a couple of customers who were thinking of going dss and they heard people say things but it is in the internet so some may hold water and others may not.
What we have done thanks to great deals from one of my distributors is we are building engines for these customers. I put together a fully forged 331 rotating assemlby using Eagle H beam rods and forged 4340 crank with probe pistons and speed pro rings for close to the same money as a dss kit with cast crank and I beam rods .
My opinion is that you can't beat attention to detail and building an engine one at a time will always have more care than multiple.
I do have to say that I have never heard anything bad about Bennett....pricey for some but I have never heard complaint one

Well the whole bottom end is stock, it does not have a girdle. Now is decision time, looks like I am going to spend some money to build this right. I have found a good core of a 351W, I am considering going with a 351/408 stroker since I am spending the money anyway.

Decided to stay with the 5.0 block.
It is now bored and stroked to 347.
Put a girdle in the bottom
Align honed the mains
Forged Hawks racing crank
Forged H style rods (ARP bolts)
Forged pistons
10:1 compression (cc head and pistons, mill block to adjust CR)
set all clearances for Forced induction
1/2" head studs
Trick Flow Twisted wedge heads (ported and machined for wire ring gasket)
Performer clone intake (gasket match porting)

That's to much compression unless you are going to keep the boost at 8psi or less. Make sure you have a good 'tune' shop to burn a chip for it. (that way your WOT timing will be in check)
As far as injectors and MAF, it depends if you are running an FMU or not. If you are running an FMU then you could probably run a 30-36 # injector set. If not, then use a set of 42's with a boost a pump.
Since you are on a draw through setup, I would say either a Pro-m 80 or 87 would suit you fine.
