beginner tranny help!
Yah im new here and at ford motors... hehe, just looted a fox gt for its AOD transmission at the junkyard, i was wondering if it was a AOD or AOD-E, i didnt look at the shifter in the car, the tranny has one round electrical harness, with 4 prongs in it, also the shifter attached to the tranny itself has an xtra lil linkage lever on it, can anyone help define it for me? Also if it was AOD E can you use that in a car setup for AOD? Any help is appreciated... thanks guys.
What year Fox? If it had a TV cable below the shift mechanism it sounds like an AOD. THE AODEs are electronically controlled so you need the appropriate computer to control them or an aftermarket unit. Where do you plan to put this?
If it came from a Fox-body, wouldn't it be an AOD?
I didn't think the Mustang got AODE's until 94 & the SN95 body???
Good tranny info here

Sounds like an AOD. If you are retrofitting it to a car with a carb setup you can pickup a TV cable from Lokar.
Yah thanks guys, i dont know the exact year of the fox, (junkyard), but it was a carb'd motor, and it was an older one with the older style headlamps, is the wire harness coming off of it a temp sensor then?
