any thoughts about B&M Hammer shifters?

my 84 mustang has an auto tranny... I believe its a C4.
Recently though my shifter has been falling apart in my hands as I drive and its driving my nuts.

Anybody have any experience with the B&M Hammer shifters?
Such as this one:

whats involved with installing one of those into a stock mustang? Does it involve any modification of the console?

are there any alternatives for aftermarket automatic shifters that anyone could recommend? I realize that this is a ratchet shifter...not exactly ideal for a daily driver but its better than a shifter falling apart...

Thanks

Don't know about the install, but had one on my 93 gt and it's design fits the contours of your hand. I mean there is a place for each finger and your thumb when you grip it.

How is it for driveablity being a ratchet shifter? My car is my daily driver and therefore its kind of important that its not difficult to use for driving through cities and on highways.

edit: I just took a look at my manuals and I think that my stock mustang actually has a C3 tranny as my engine is only the 3.8L V6... which is unfortunate. any possibility the hammer shifter would be compatible with a C3??

I'm pretty sure C3s are somewhat similar to the C4 (like the C5, which was internally weaker than the C4)

I'm not entirely sure but I would expect B&M to know. It would be best to ask them
