93LX Build Thread

Figured I would start a build thread on my project. Car is a 93 LX, not sure if it is wild strawberry or electric red, factory 2.3/A4LD. 115K miles, 99% rust free.

My 87 GT is unfortunately the donor for the 5.0/T5 swap.

I daily drove this car for 2 years and I absolutely love it. But it is just too ate up for me to deal with. Front frame rails and shock towers are shot. Torque boxes are destroyed. The roof is rotted out and the floor pan is terrible and it needs a lot of body work.

Motor is currently a stock bore 5.0 that I rebuilt a few years ago, stock heads and intake with a b cam and long tubes. My main goal right now is just getting the 93 running and driving and then building the rest of the car, suspension, brakes, ect to handle more power and then start building a better motor. But I will probably throw a set of gt40 heads and an explorer intake on in the mean time.

I will post a few more pics of the swap progress later but right now the 2.3 is ready to come out and the 5 speed pedal assembly is ready to go in. I'm still have a few parts to buy and some to pull off the 87 still before I start getting too far along but I almost have everything. I also have a 9 month old son so progress on the car is fairly slow but it will get there.

Finished pulling the 2.3 and tranny today. Next up is removing all the wiring and putting all the new harnesses in and finish installing the manual pedal assembly and V8 brake booster. That is all going to be for another day though, I work 3rd shift and have been up since 3pm yesterday. Should have another update sometime next week!
