93 auto 2.3L auto tranny now slipping...need help
Im a bit confused by whats going on...maybe someone can help?
2.3L auto 93 convertible
Trans seemed tierd...not really slipping but not crisply going into gear (a worn feeling)...i noticed fluid level was way above |xxxxx| line (about 2-3 inches on dip stick)....so we took some out (from above using hose like device) to get level to just top of XXXX's (and yes checked on level surface and running and hot and smelled and looked fine)
Now here's the thing...now that trans fluid level is right, the trans is slipping and hesitating going into different gears....what is going on? should i re add more fluid? but confused as to how much???
Could it be (been reading) the shift module???

Has the trans fluid been changed? If not, would be a good idea to flush and refill it. Can also change the filter too. Just wondering, since dropping the pan and inspecting it could yield better clues. Yeah, too much trans fluid is definitely bad.
Heard this transmission is kind of hard to diagnose
- supposedly Ford Explorer forums can be a good source of info about this transmission. IIRC, unlike the 5.0 Fox AOD's this transmission has electronically controlled solenoids and stuff.

i took your suggestion, and really helped...i didn't have flushed (read that if not done before, and many miles...has 236km's...not to flush as can make things worse)...however i did have oil and filter replaced and had some type additive added (mrlube.ca) price was good...and made hugh difference...heck the check engine light not even coming on anymore...
knock on wood it lasts...if this works...and i can escape needing a trans rebuild...im a happy camper...
much thxs for suggestion!
