I own an 85 GT with stock exhaust. I want to upgrade to equal length shorty headers, X-pipe, and a cat-back system. I am aware that I need to replace the transmission crossmember and add a hanger to the new X-pipe, but am I overlooking anything else? Are there hangers that I will need to add? I am assuming the current stock hangers at the mufflers can be used. I stopped by my local Ford dealer and was told that the hangers for the 86-93 Mustang are no longer available. Is this a straight forward swap? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

that sounds about right. just take your car to an exhaust shop and get them to put it on the lift and they can tell you exactly what you need. and give you an estimate for the cost. unless you are doing it yourself. then you will hav eto hit a junkyard and hope to find an 86-93 lx with the 50 to get the parts from

Lots of aftermarket companies have everything you need to convert over to true duals. I think you've named everything you need.
