I've got a bone stock 84 gt anniversary car with the exception of true dual 2.5 exhaust. I'm going to start messing with the car and make a dd out of it but I want to get a little more performance out of it. The engine only has 81k miles. What are the choke points on the little 302. Heads worse than cam etc. Intake manifold sufficient. I don't want to go crazy and build a race car but if 87 and up heads were better etc. basically where to start without spending a fortune. I've got a 408 trans am so I don't want a race car. Thanks.

 

Only 81K on the motor? That's pretty cool. To use as a DD, I'd recommend suspension and brake upgrades first. The shocks are probably fried and stopping might be an adventure <unless already tweaked>. An 81K 302 and keeping it carbureted versus FI isn't in my background so I really can't help but a Pic would be nice if have as I don't see many unmolested '84's.
