351 cam in a 347 stroker
I am planning on running this cam in a 347 stroker for a Cobra kit car. It specifies a 351W but I have read cams will interchange without problems. I am concerned about the distributor. Mallory stated the gears were the same size but Edelbrock told me I needed to run a 351W dizzy. But the oil pump shafts are different sizes. I am getting so many answers I am confused what is absolute correct.
PLEASE HELP direct me.

The only difference in the cam is the firing order and in fact the 5.0 HO uses the 351 firing order. You cannot use a 351W Distributor because the difference IS the size of the oil pump drive shaft!...use a 302 Dist, use the 351 Cam and if it is a roller cam then make sure you have the correct gear on the Dizzy...otherwise that will get chewed up.
