347 dyno numbers seem right?

A guy I know had a engine built at a shop near by. It was suppose to be a (DSS??? block) 347 rotating assembly, ported pro comp heads, ported professional products intake, and all the bolt ons. Its a comp cam not sure the size. The car made 260rwhp on a dyno dynamics dyno which would be around 300 ish on a dynojet. Does that seem kind of low for a 347? Its a 5 speed 373 geared 92.

Seems low to me. Does it have enough fuel and timing?

I'm thinking he said 24lb injectors, cam I'm not sure about but I know they said it had alot of cam surge. The intake looked like the stock design just chrome and had a PP logo on it. I've never seen the graph but it was on the dyno getting the tune so I would have imagined any timing issues would have been adjusted during the tune.

1st just from the tiny info you gave the intake track is choking it for starters. The PP is a poorly casted intake with alot of casting flash just for starters but the biggest things is that intake and 24lb injectors are parts for mild 302s. He should have atleast 30lb injectors and a much better intake like the holley system max, trick flow R ,etc. The other things is a dyno is tuning device send it down the track and see what it deos for times but I'm curious about why the tuner didn't pick up on some things.

I still would like some more info but I can tell already the intake/injectors are a bad match again those are for mild 302s.

You will need more information for us to really get a "realistic" idea of your HP potential... Your Heads.. What are the cc , any flow ratings numbers? .. Cam specs.. Lift.. Duration.. Lobe separation... ? Compression of the Engine? The more info the more educated approximation we can make... Skunk is right about your intake and injectors... Those particular parts support a car with the power numbers your stating... Not the stereotypical 347! You can have a the best Go fast goodies on your engine, it only takes one non supporting part to really discourage you at the track... Though like stated above it seems the tuner would pick up on some things... Ex... If your running 24lb/hr injectors I'll bet the duty cycle is at or near 100% .Your air/fuel map would be inconsistent ... 30lb/hr is the minimum I would suggest... Anyway I hope your buddy gets her where he wants her... Good luck and keep us updated!
