17x8 Bullitt Wheels

I'm in the process of converting to 5 lug using parts identical to the Ford Racing kit that was once available. Cobra disc brakes front and rear and all the other pieces. I have a line on a good set of 17x8 factory Bullitt wheels and would like to know if they will clear? LRS has Bullitt's in 17x9 and state that they will not clear Cobra brakes. Just wondering if they are stating this because of the width and modified offset. Any experience here with Cobra brakes and Bullitt wheels?

Bullet wheels do fit over the 96-98 cobra brakes. I mention just them because thats what i have delt with personally. The only issues i know of with the bullet wheels and 5 lug conversions is that when going with the lincoln style front rotors the hubs have clearance issues. You will have to run a small spacer also to get the caps to fit on as well. The sn 95 front brake conversions take care of that completely. Also with the cobra 13" brake rotors you usally will have to stick with a 17" wheel or larger. Hope this helps some.

Wish I knew about the takeoffs a week ago. I bought a set of 4 factory Bullitt's for $175. Thought that was a pretty good deal. They have a few scuffs but I plan on fixing those either way. I'll post pics before I start prep work on them.

I have the Cobra brake kit (part# 2300K) on my '89 with 17x8 Bullitt wheels. They fit perfectly.

Very nice looking car. That is the look and response I want. Are your Bullitts 17X8 or are the 17X9? Just wondering. I'm in the process stripping and refinishing mine. Gonna take out a few small scratches and polish lip and repaint then clear it all.

Mine are 17x8. They are the same wheel used on the '01 Bullitt except the spokes are silver and the lips are polished. They were from Ford, but they no longer make them.

Glad to hear as I have the factory 17x8 as well. I think that the Bullitts really compliment the car.

In the process of refinishing the wheels. I'll post up a tutorial when they are done. Thought it was going to be a big job, but have been really surprised at how well they strip and sand.
